Hello, my names Kevin Duffy and I live Hebden Bridge. Having been a sales rep for twenty years for various publishing houses, I got sick and tired of all the celebrity tat that's out there at present and started to rant. Hetha, my wife and my youngest son Cal, decided to build a box in the corner of our front room and let me out only to watch Coronation Street and Rugby. I've always written, had an agent for two years, Hodder were going to publish my book, however, it didn't happen. So we remortgaged our house and started Bluemoose books in November 2005.
We've published two titles so far, a non fiction title by a Canadian journalist called Nathan Vanek, and my book called Anthills and Stars. Thats the plug out of the way. We're asking for commissions from writers with a voice that the big publishing houses are refusing the British Public the chance to hear. There is so much new talent out there that's not being heard , its a scandal that when you go to Waterstones all you see is 3 for 2's , massively discounted genre titles and verey little else. Booksellers tell me their hands are tied with over 82% of new titles being resourced from Wats HQ in Brentford. I'm ranting again and will have to go back into my box. Regards Kevin[/i][/b]
