MANCHESTER HOSTS INCWRITERS AWARD 2008

Incwriters and Manchester Libraries would like to thank all the people who attended the event on the 11.03.2008. We were overwhelmed by the numbers that came and we were soon packed to the rafters.

We would also like to thank Nina Rapi (Brand), Graham High (Blithe Spirit), Michael Standen (Other Poetry), Carole Baldock (Orbis), William Park (Incwriters) and Ian Parks for chairing the panel. Thanks to everyone who asked questions and apologies to those who couldn't due to time constraints.

We would also like to thank Andrew Oldham fror managing/planning the event and liaising with Libby Tempest at Manchester Library. A big thanks goes to both Libby Tempest and Jane Mathieson for the support they have shown Incwriters.

Thanks for everyone who came. It was a good evening and we had many positive comments. Please, as I said, do give us feedback here and join the forum and the website. Just want to thank my wife, Carol, who was very supportive all evening and even into the late hours.

I'm glad people enjoyed my speech and I am overjoyed that many of you sold magazines.

I wish I'd been there, the photos show that you had a busy night! I only wish it had been in London! I will certainly be looking up a number of the final 10 magazines. Is there anywhere I can subscribe to them?

I enjoyed the Manchester awards night Tuesday. You obviously put a lot of work into the event, as it went off without a hitch, was very well attended by a serious and engaging audience and seems to be on the rise for future years!
