Of course I love the short story as a narrative form. I don't prefer it to novellas or novels, but I don't see it as inferior, either.
Share the love! Do you read short stories? Do you write them? _________________ Trudi Topham,

| Not a big fan of them, the characters always appear to me two dimensional and you can never truly get into the heads. I have found the majority of short stories I've read are concentrating on a feel, or a moment and seem to be a product of their time and are not timeless. This may be down to the limitation on the exploration of themes. Frankly, is there enough of a market for them? Who can pay their mortgage off writing short stories? |

Who can pay their mortgage off writing anything? That is rather trite to say that. The world of publishing is huge, it depends on whether you limit yourself and it is this small mindedness that really p***es me off. A short story writer can write novels and vice versa, we are not limited to one medium as writers. Bring back the Renaissance Man!
Anyway, with the credit crunch, no one will be paying their mortgages off! |
