MIREHOUSE POETRY COMPETITION
I'll keep advertising this until its deadline of Friday 15 February since it's our local poetry competition! The judge of this year's Mirehouse Competition is poet Alice Oswald and the theme this year is FLOWING. Winners will be notified by 27 February and there'll be a special event at Mirehouse (Bassenthwaite) during the Words by the Water festival, on Sunday 2 March at 2.30pm, when Alice Oswald will talk about the competition and the winning poems will be read. The winner and eight highly commended poems will then be displayed on the Mirehouse Poetry Walk.
